Montezuma's Well is a great, peaceful place to visit. It's a national monument and there is no charge to go in! There is a 1 mile loop trail that takes you to a point overlooking the well - a natural oasis in the middle of the desert - and also down to the shore. The ancient natives carved an irrigation canal using the well's water to grow their crops.
