I've always loved music. I got my 1st guitar when I was 13. It pretty much sat around collecting dust for several years, but my love of music continued to grow. At 18, I decided to teach myself how to play guitar and never stopped. Soon after I started taking the guitar seriously, I bought a Fostex 4 track cassette recorder and dove into the world of recording and mixing music.
I started my first band (Lunar Eclipse) just a few months after learning to play the guitar. It was just my friend Ken Camarata (who played drums) and I jamming late at night above the Grand Central Theater in Ellensburg, WA—and screwing around with the 4 track.
Ken and I realized we needed a bass player, and I remembered this kid from high school (Kittitas High School) who was a drummer for the high school band - Justin Berger. I called Justin one day out of the blue and asked if he'd be interested in playing bass for my band. Justin said he'd do it (even though he had no idea how to play bass), and borrowed the high school band's bass.
Eventually, Ken left and Justin took over on drums—and soon after, Rich invited Matthew Crane to join as the singer. Chameleon King was born. Several bass players came and went, until Scott Wedel came along. Scott played sax in the music department at Central Washington University - but he also played bass. And he played it very well (and still does)...
Chameleon King wrote about 30 original songs and recorded several of them on 2 albums (Logical Disorder and The Trials and Tribulations of a Royal Reptile).
Matt and I moved to Seattle in 1992 and soon after, Chameleon King was disbanded. From then on, I focused on writing and recording music on the 4 track machine. I recorded music on the 4 track for over a decade, but finally made the switch to digital recording in 2000.
The following are links to most of the music I created and/or helped create from the beginning to present day.
