Big Tree

Soy discovers and befriends Big Tree in Magic Tails Chapter 3 - Playful Dreams. After Raven leaves, Soy happens upon the most majestic of all trees - Big Tree - and they soon become close companions. Big Tree can't talk, but can share thoughts and feeling with Soy and all the other animals by letting its emotions flow from its mighty form. Big Tree and the surrounding meadow become the center and meeting place for all the animals that come through Soy's magical doorway.
We can all experience the wisdom of trees. Sit under a tree sometime and close your eyes. Send your thoughts and feelings into the roots, branches and leaves ... then wait ... and "listen" to what the tree has to say to you.
In Norse mythology, Yggdrasil (pronounced ig-druh-zil) is the greatest of all trees. Its branches and roots reach into every world of existence. The branches extend into the four worlds above Humankind (Asgard, Ljossalfheim, Muspelheim and Vanaheim), the trunk rests on Earth (Midgard), while the roots reach into the four lands of the Underworld (Jotunheim, Nifelheim, Svartalfheim, and Hel).
Trees can have many different meanings when they appear in dreams and meditations. They may speak to you in words, giving you important messages or sharing wisdom. Sometimes another spirit that lives nearby or in the tree can have lessons to teach you. A tree appearing in a dream or meditation can also mean that you are opening yourself to other worlds or experiences. To take on the spirit of a tree, be still and listen to the wind.
