Dragons by Peter Hogarth and Val Clery
This book has been out of print for some time, but I would highly suggest tracking it down and buying it - well worth the effort. The book basically goes through a brief history of dragons, devils, and imps depicted from many different countries and time periods. The chapters include imagery of the Far East, Classical Greece, and even Nordic legends. Wonderful photos and a clear and understandable text make this highly enjoyable and educational. It is a real treat, makes a great gift for art historians and others interested in the classics. I highly recommend it!
