The Shamanic Journey
Cultures all over the world have a way of accesssing non ordinary reality. What’s fascinating is that most of their ways of doing this boil down to the same basic “ blue print.” A lot of these cultures had no way of communicating with other cultures half way across the globe, and yet, their methods are eriely similar. Non ordinary reality, in a nut shell, is a trance-like state in which one taps into their spirit guides and power animals. This trance like state can be induced by drumming or dancing. It has been empirically proven that if one listens to a repetitve, monotonous drum beat, over and over again, it chemically alters one’s brain chemistry (puts one in a different state). Shamans all over the world have used these methods to find and then communicate with their spirit helpers. The world of spirit is not one to be accessed lightly, and should be done so with the greatest of respect. Often times it is not appropriate to turn to one’s spirit helpers to ask for advice on certain issues (in which case, the spirit helpers will not answer your question). I have been a student of the Harner Method of Shamanism for 15 years. If you are interested in finding out how to tap into this unique power for yourself, click here to order Michael Harner’s The Way of the Shaman and even take classes from him!
