Shadow



Shadow was Soy's friend in the dreamworld. They played together
often after Raven left Soy alone on Earth. Until one night when
Shadow didn't show up to play with Soy in the dreamworld.

Shadow didn't return to Soy's dreams for many years.

Shadow has many aspects. This makes it difficult to explain what it
could mean if you are visited in a dream or meditation by Shadow.

If you simply dream of a black cat who is not Shadow -
just a black housecat - it could mean that you are being protected
by a powerful cat spirit (especially if you have a cat!).
It can also mean that if you're faced with a confrontation of some sort,
you'll have the ability to see whether you should stick around for the
fight or to retreat. You could be entering a period of high self-esteem
(if you're not in one already). You could also have the ability to see spirits
while awake. Cats do this a lot - have you ever been hangin' with a cat and
seen him or her jerk their head up quickly and stare at a spot in the corner
of the room? You get up and look, and nothing's there... but sometimes
there is. 

Black cats are not bad omens! They were made so during the
brutal witch hunts of the 'crusades' in the middle ages. Pagan peoples
were hunted down and killed, and so were their pets - or familiars.
Many had black cats because they were powerful allies and great
spiritual guardians. The Christian crusaders took most of the
pagan symbols and turned them into the icons of the Devil, such
as black cats.

I had a black cat from age 7 until I was 23. Her name
was Shadow and she inspired the character Shadow in these Tails.
She was one of the greatest animals to walk on Earth and helped
me get through many difficult times during childhood. Black cats
are not evil - they are powerful guardians.

If you dream or see a black panther (a very large, black cat) 
in a meditation, it could mean that you are a natural leader
with a lot of charisma. You have the ability to speak before people
without being nervous because you believe what you say and speak
the truth. If you have a hard time speaking in public, try to get better!
You have a lot to say and share with people around you - speak up!
Black panthers also represent protective, female energy. You are
being helped and protected by a very powerful spirit!
