Saraswati



In Blanco's Earth Tails # 1, Saraswati joined
other great and influential humans throughout time (like Buddha,
Morgaine, Jesus, Helen Keller...) in a boy named Lars Ravenkeep's
dream one night. They all gathered around Big Tree to show Lars
and the rest of humanity that there should be no divisions between
people because of their skin color or religion.

Saraswati is the Hindu Goddess of knowledge, wisdom, learning,
and also of music. She is often shown with a Sitar or Lute. Saraswati
was often associated with Brahma (the creator of the world in Hindu
mythology), because she was his wife. She helped Brahma by tempering
his creative force with her divine knowledge.

If Saraswati comes to you in a dream or meditation, it could be a very
powerful message from the universe. You have much to share with the
world and may be at a crossroads. Saraswati asks you to make a wise
decision by doing what's right for the 'Greater Good' rather than what's
good for you at the moment. Try speaking with others about your ideas,
feelings, and beliefs.

A visit from Saraswati could also mean that you
have a musical side. If you're already exploring this part of yourself,
Saraswati is probably there to give you her blessing and to encourage
you to continue! If you've never thought about playing a musical
instrument or becoming involved with music in some way, maybe
you should start thinking about it. When you listen to music, what
instrument or instruments do you like most? If you can, get one
of the instruments you feel attracted to and play around with it.
See what it brings out of you. If you get excited and want to play
it more, do so! Don't limit yourself to one instrument either.
The guitar was the first instrument to speak to me. Eventually, I
discovered I had the knack to play flute and electric bass too.
I also love the production aspect of music - recording is one
of the greatest thrills I know of!
